Tom's Portrait session

One of my friends from yoga teacher training, Tom, came all the way from Syracuse to do a photo session at my studio. Tom is a Math professor and a seasoned yogi, we worked very well together to create some professional portraits in different lighting setups, some casual portraits outdoors in natural light and also some yoga poses. It was a very productive one-hour session!

Tom is looking very sharp all dressed up:)

We played with the lighting setups to get a variety of looks for Tom to choose from, here are some best shots with all artificial lighting, they have a more crisp look and feel:

These shots were taken using all natural light setup, they have a softer look to them

These shots were taken using a mixture of natural light and flash:

It is very hard to say which lighting setup is better, each person might have a different opinion. I think my job as a photographer is to have the flexibility and control to create different looks according to the client's preference.

These are some outdoor casual portraits that we took after the studio shoot

And finally some yoga poses by the water! Check out Tom's awesome backbends! Talking about opening the heart! Namaste!
