Jump selfie!
Haven't done a selfie in a long time...The eternal problem that a photographer faces: we LOVE imagery but we can't shoot ourselves, or at least not with the ease and flexibility and sensitivity that we have when our own eyes are looking through the viewfinder. So each time we make a "serious" selfie, that is, not with a cell phone or not simply pointing the camera to a mirror, it takes some serious time and effort. I've done many selfies before using tripod and remote, but when it comes to jump shoots, it is nearly impossible without a helping hand. Here thanks to my dear hubby, who so patiently followed all my instructions and repeated the shot a million times, we finally caught a few best shots with nice jumps and, a shower of tiny petals falling from the tree that sparkled in the sunshine - It was just perfect!
ROC Yoga In The Park Grand Opening
These pictures were shot at my friends Jenn and Tiffany's Yoga In the Park grand opening event at Penfield Rothfuss Park last Saturday. It was an unusually windy and chilly day in mid-June, however, still a lot of people showed up with enthusiasm. It looks like doing yoga in the nature breathing the fresh air is indeed an attractive idea to many people. Congrats to Jenn and Tiffany!
The Lonely Ones
These photos were shot at a concert by The Lonely Ones performed at the Sticky Lips BBQ a while ago. The stage lighting sometimes looked really wierd so I made all the pictures in black and white in post procession and added some grain to achieve a film-like effect. They look much better than the colored version in my opinion!
Tom's Portrait session
One of my friends from yoga teacher training, Tom, came all the way from Syracuse to do a photo session at my studio. Tom is a Math professor and a seasoned yogi, we worked very well together to create some professional portraits in different lighting setups, some casual portraits outdoors in natural light and also some yoga poses. It was a very productive one-hour session!

These photos were taken a while back during the winter time. We had a lot of fun dressing up our cute little starlet Ehlaw in a whole bunch of silk flowers in my studio. All the pictures were taken using the beautiful natural light.
Then we went outside to take some photos in the snow! Really love these mother-and-daughter shots, so loving and sweet!
We also took some nice portraits for Alice in the studio...Very productive session!

Just cleaned myself up from the color run in the morning, still hazy from the mimosas at friend's after-party, I didn't catch the first half of the showcase, but was very happy that didn't miss Lucas and Kerr's beautiful theatrical routine!

Rain's photo album
Just got the album I designed for Rain! We had a lot of fun shooting these pictures playing with costumes and balloons with her mom and aunt assisting the shoot.
Selfie!!
So I wanted a portrait of myself using my new studio equipment...Took me half an hour to get this one shot that would probably take only 2 minutes if I'm shooting someone else. Haven't done this for a while I almost forgot how difficult it is to self-shoot with a tripod and remote.
Dominant Voices
Some photos taken at the contemporary dance show "Dominant Voices". This beautiful performance was presented by my friend Kathy's dance company Rochester Dance Project at RAPA east end theater. The show is one of many fabulous dance and art events happening right now at the Rochester Fringe Festival.
Because this was the first time that I had seen their choreography, these pictures were pretty random captures. There were countless great actions that I missed because they happened too fast or because I was at the wrong angle. Dance is really an art that you can only fully appreciate in the moment. Maryana's Family
Maryana is a long time friend of mine and she has a beautiful and super fun family of five: M&M, two girls and Alberto the cute little dog. It was a lot of chaos shooting their family pictures, I had to chase after Emma the energetic little one around to get her shots, but I really love the pictures! They are so full of life and character :)
